Cecelia Rivera of Arvada, Colorado, age 88, passed into eternal life on May 21st. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry and her daughter René and survived by her beloved daughters Kim (Angelo), Joni (David), Lori (Anthony), and Teddi (Piar), 10 grandchildren, and 6 (soon to be 7) great grandchildren. Cecelia was born in Puritan, Colorado and grew up in Fort Lupton. She moved to Denver after marrying Henry where they began their life together.
Even after losing their firstborn, René, Cecelia and Henry remained steadfast in building a beautiful, full life with an abundant family. Cecelia was endlessly committed to making all she encountered feel seen and loved. On her daily walks she would make friends, becoming a staple in every community she touched. She loved making others laugh, looking for blessings in sidewalk pennies, and devotedly cheering on every Denver sports team. Her legacy persists in her love for her family. Her beautiful light shines ardently in the lives she created and the lives they will touch forevermore.
Cecelia's family is deeply grateful to have been shaped by her love. They are also grateful to the caretakers at Greenridge Place Memory Care who gave us enormous peace and comfort in Cecelia and Henry's final days.
