Charles "Charlie" Lopez, age 84, of Denver, CO passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022. He was born on July 31, 1937 in Raton, NM, the son of Cresencia (Sandoval) and Celso Lopez.
Charlie cherished family, he loved his children and grandchildren immensely. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and the New Mexico Lobos; he was an amazing cook, a great artist, liked making play-doh dinosaur figures for his grandkids and loved to go fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife, Valerie (Hon) Lopez; children, Nita (Jim) Reffelt, Charlie (Josie) Lopez, Mike Lopez and Diane Vigil grandchildren, Kayla, Ava, Dante, Alyssa, Suzy, Aiden, Sarah, Stevani, Christopher, Jaydon, Jolene, Shanelle and Daniel; many great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Anthony Lopez; one daughter, Sarah and numerous siblings.
Charlie "Papo" will be forever missed by those he left behind. The hugs, laughter, and smile will always be etched in our hearts. We know that you will now be our guardian angel, and we will be together again one day, until that time, "We love you Papo!"
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Newcomer West Metro Chapel.
