Charles M. Armstrong, Jr.

Charles McBride Armstrong, Jr., 64, of Lakewood, CO, passed away May 23, 2007.

Born on March 19, 1943, in Denver, Colorado, Charles attended George Washington High School in Denver, CO, graduating in 1961 and Western State College in Gunnison, CO, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering in 1971. He served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant, during the Viet Nam conflict.

Charles retired as a Building Engineer, having worked for the Jefferson County Public Schools for many years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Idaho Springs, CO for 32 years, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4171 in Golden, CO for over 30 years and the American Legion Post 0193 in Lakewood, CO for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles McBride Armstrong, Sr. and Alice H. (Nelson) Armstrong. Charles is survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from 6:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. and the Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 10:00A.M., both at the Newcomer Family Funeral Home - West Metro Chapel, with Pastor Mike Lemke officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery (Staging Area "B") at 11:30A.M. with Military Honors by the All Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Army.
