Charles F. Richmond Obituary

Charles Franklin Richmond (Chuck), 88, of Loveland, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in Loveland, CO.

He was born to Margaret and Walter Richmond, March 10, 1932, in Denver, CO. Chuck graduated from South High School in 1950. He married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Llewellyn, in December 1952, and they lived together in Denver, Parker, Franktown and finally in Loveland, CO. They were married for 62 years before her passing in 2015.

Chuck enlisted in the US Navy February 1952, and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Upon his return to Colorado he worked at several companies before driving a truck for Pacific Intermountain Express (PIE) until his retirement 30 years later.

He became a Mason in 1966 at the Aurora Masonic Lodge No. 156, A.F and A.M. and was also a member of The International Brotherhood of Teamster Local No 17 for over 60 years.

Chuck, Ruth and his family loved to camp around Colorado and the United States. He and Ruth joined their daughter and her husband on an Alaskan cruise in 2002 to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. He often would tell stories about his camping trips with his family and stories of his youth with pride and joy. He also enjoyed leatherworking, fishing, photography and trains.

When asked about how he wanted to be remembered he said "I was a good husband, a great father, and wonderful grandpa, and a loyal friend."

He is survived by three daughters: Nancy Reed of Loveland Colorado; Mary Richmond and her husband Paul Meyer, of Fort Collins Colorado; and Sally Hashaw and her husband, Dennie Hashaw of Wimauma, FL. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Melissa Rogers, Trevor Babcock, Travis Babcock, Kathryn Gunter and Samuel Meyer and three great-grandchildren: Mykaila Rogers, Luke Babcock and Hunter Babcock. He is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Walter Richmond, brother: Arthur Richmond and his wife, Ruth Richmond.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Aurora Lodge - Art Moore Memorial Fund for student scholarships, as learning and asking questions were an important part of his life.
