Charlotte Marie Romero, passed peacefully on July 13, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital in Denver Colorado. Her final moments were spent seeing loved ones on video chat and with her three sons present by her side.
Charlotte was born on June 20, 1939 in Trinidad, Colorado to Frank and Ida Morgan. Charlotte was raised with her three brothers and one sister Richard, Gerald, Billie, and Connie. She married Elton "Bill" Perry, whom she had her three sons with; she later married Rich Baker, and finally Pete Romero.
Charlotte is survived by her sons Richard, William and White-Eagle of Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her brother Richard. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ida, her brothers Gerald, Billie, and her sister Connie.
Charlotte lived a full life as a wonderful dedicated mother and helper of those in need. Charlotte treasured her children and embraced every moment with them, instilling in her sons, strong values that have served them well. As she stated in a letter to her sons "my sons have always been my main purpose in life" "I do feel blessed that I have to me very good sons." Through her life she has helped many other people, family members, and friends by giving them a place to live until they could move on to better life conditions.
Charlotte loved her brother and extended family as well. Every morning she would call her brother, talk to nieces, various family members, and friends. She loved doing crafts, of which mostly included crochet, embroidery, and knitting. She also would spend the day in her garden taking care of the plants; as well as feeding the local stray cat, squirrels, and birds. She was a very sharp, intelligent woman, strong independent woman who always spoke her mind, even when it may upset you. Charlotte always had great stories and fond memories of growing up in Trinidad, including the story of the ghost on the hill. Also Charlotte loved to read her bible, listen to Christian radio, and was strong in her faith in God, even though she didn't belong to a church, or particular domination.
In her letter to her sons she also stated, "I really do not want to die, but I also know that will happen. I am not afraid of death, because it is like being born. A person does not know when they are born, and they do not know when they die." So please do not be too saddened by her passing, as she is also now with her mother whom she loved and missed very much.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to ASPCA.org in Charlotte's name. Please copy and paste this link into your browser: https://secure.aspca.org/team/charlotte-s-memorial-campaign
