Chester Lamar Green was born on December 27, 1954 in Mansfield, Louisiana to the union of Sallie Mae Green and Lewis McCall. He was the fourth of four children born into this loving family and was reared in a Christian home. His parents provided a strong spiritual foundation for him and he accepted Christ at an early age.
Chester was educated in the Mansfield, Louisiana public school system and graduated from De Soto High School, Class of 1972. He served several years in the Army Branch of military and later worked for the United States Postal Service as a Postal Carrier in Louisiana.
After several years of living and working in Mansfield, Chester moved to Colorado where his sister, Yvonne Zackery resides. He changed careers and worked in the catering industry, where he found great fulfillment.
Chester was well known for his superb cooking, making the best barbeque ribs in town and hosting family cookouts accordingly. He kept in touch with all family members from the east coast to the west coast and treasured the relationships. Chester had unique relationships with every member of the family and all of his friends. He had a sarcastic sense of humor, loved his family, loved the ladies, and enjoyed life to the fullest of his ability. His voicemail was a perfect example of his humor, as it stated "Sorry I missed your call but I'm in the process of making changes. If I don't call you back, then I guess you are one of the changes."
Chester departed this life on January 4, 2021 after a long illness. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles Lane and sister, Dorothy Smith. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Yvonne Jean Zackery; daughter and only child, Darelynn Spencer; five grandchildren, Jeremy Ford (Brittany), Ashley, Kaitlin, Kaila, and Nicholas Spencer; five great grandchildren, Bentley and Marilyn Ford, Nahla and Lyfe Sanders and Jersi Robinson; nieces, LaTonya Lacy (Frenchie Lacy), LaTaeya Lane-Mega (Leo Mega); Shardae Lane; nephews, Maurice Mandel Lane, Michael Honore (Shannel Renee), Lamar Lane (Veronika) and Stefan Moton; devoted friend, Douglas Lamar Hillman, who was more like a brother; and a host of great and great great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
