Chris Clark

Christine Elise (Chris) Clark passed away unexpectedly on Friday July 11, 2008. She was born in Edwardsville, Illinois on October 16, 1953, to her late father, Arthur Kayser, and mother, Irmgard Rothe Kayser. Her father was an officer of Illinois Power and Light. Chris is survived by her mother who resides in Rio Verde, Arizona and Hackensack, Minnesota, her brother Eugene Kayser of Boulder, Colorado, her sister, Sandy Anderson of Cobden, Illinois, and niece Kristin Anderson of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by numerous other loved ones and close friends.

Chris graduated from Galesburg High School in Galesburg, Illinois in 1971. She graduated from Colorado State University in 1975 where she majored in Fashion Marketing. However, the majority of Chris's business career was in the field of banking. She was a banker at First Colorado Bank and Trust, Silverado Bank, Columbia Savings, Norwest Bank, and finally in the marketing area at Wells Fargo Bank where she was a Vice President. She was a consummate marketer and people person who was devoted to her work and the opportunities it gave her to share her enthusiasm with colleagues and customers.

Chris traveled the world extensively and with abandon. Her love for adventure and new experiences knew no equal, and her exuberance uplifted those along with her as she cycled and trekked the globe. She was an avid and inexhaustible cyclist who rode her bike to work every day except in the most severe weather—and did so with a joyful spirit. The term "health nut" fit her perfectly (she reveled in it!), as she set a practically unreachable example for those more mortal. She was also a passionate hiker, which brought her to the heart of the great outdoors where she was most at home. In the summer she could be found scaling Colorado's 14ers and in winter on the ski slope bump runs, snow shoeing or cross country skiing in the back country. She will come to rest only where there is just sky above.

Chris was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and the Junior League. She served on the Board of Directors of Sewell Rehabilitation Center, the Board of Directors of the Dumb Friends League (she was a true animal lover and had a particular soft spot for any golden retriever), and on the Board of Directors of the Volunteers for Colorado where she was actively involved with their various volunteer projects. Chris was also involved with the Denver Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Denver Partnership.

Services will be held on Friday July 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Cathedral, 1350 Washington St., Denver, CO 80203.
