Christa Adeleid Hering

Christa Adelheid Hering (Herion) was born July 22, 1930 and baptized July 26th in Pforzheim, Germany. She was confirmed on April 2, 1944, graduated from elementary school that same year, and then attended home economics trade school for three years. Later she worked as an agriculture assistant in Forchheim. It was during her time there she met her husband to be, Eugene. They were married in Morsch by Karlsruhe, Germany on December 15, 1952.
In 1953 Eugene responded to an advertisement for a gardening position near Salina, Kansas. Christa traveled ahead of Eugene in 1954 by boat and then train. They were reunited at the CK ranch near Brookville, KS. Eugene and Christa's stay at the CK ranch was short-lived. They moved to Denver in 1955 for a better future.
Together they had five children; one who died as an infant in Germany. Christa raised four children, all of whom attended Emmaus Lutheran Church and School. She managed the school cafeteria there for seven years, and then later was employed at the Country Buffett. She was an avid seamstress, and also loved to needlepoint and knit. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren, all of whom have fond memories of Christa.
Christa passed from this life to her heavenly home on October 19th, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, and is survived by her sister Inge Antonio, her brother Herbert Herion, her children Bill (Kate), John (Debbie), Inge and Tom (Karla), as well as eight grandchildren; Alex, Hannah, Clavton, Sadie, Jill, Alyce, Kristen, Lauren and 11 great-grandchildren Ava, Evelyn, Greta, Margo, Tayla, Oakley, Houston; Kingston, Hendrix, Olivia, Shelby. Our family has been blessed by her kindness and compassion, her steadfast faith, and her genuine love for all. We thank our Heavenly Father for the memory of Christa.
