Life History: Chris grew up on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation. She attended St. Francis Indian School all 12 years where she graduated top in her class. Chris worked in civil service most of her adult life. She joined the Marine Corp where she became a Sargent after only 9 months. While working at a Naval Base on Treasure Island, she met her husband Samuel Evans. They have been married for 51 years, raised their children and enjoyed their grandchildren. Chris' favorite hobby was to go garage sale'ing on Saturday mornings.
Survivors: Husband: Samuel W. Evans of Westminster, CO. Children: Michelle Petago and her husband Ed Petago, of Wellington, CO and Maury Evans and his partner Kirk Harrell of Portland, OR. Grandchildren: Bryn and Tesa Petago of Wellington, CO. Siblings: Cecelia Richards of Denver, CO and Violet Rogers of Lakewood, CO.
