Christopher John Swallow

July 9, 1952 — May 11, 2022

Christopher Swallow, age 69, of Denver, CO, passed away on May 11, 2022 with family at his side. Chris died after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease and other complex health conditions.

Chris was born to William and Nancy Swallow, in Indianapolis, IN. After graduating from Scecina Memorial High School in 1970, Chris attended Purdue University as an Evans Scholar. He earned a degree in political science and loved working on the Purdue Exponent newspaper.

Chris and his wife, Barbara, moved to Denver, CO in 1976 after falling in love with the area on a trip. He enjoyed spending time in the Rocky Mountains, eating Colorado-style green chili, and rooting for local sports teams, especially the Denver University Pioneers hockey team. Chris spent his career working in education, primarily as a teacher.

Chris loved cars and Indy Car racing, golf, photography, music, and any opportunity for a good time. He was a dedicated fan of his children's sports, and a frequent emcee of the neighborhood 4th of July flag raising ceremony.

Chris is survived by Barbara, his wife of 47 years, his children Emily (Nicholas) Bade, Ian (Emily) Swallow, and grandson Sullivan Bade, who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
