It is with great sadness that the family of Clarice Joan Peters of Denver, Colorado announces her passing on July 8, 2021. She was 88 years old.
Clarice Joan (Morrow) Peters was born in Dickinson, North Dakota on June 7, 1933, to Warren and Leola Morrow. She had an older brother, Robert, and a younger sister, Barbara. They moved to Butte, Montana where Clarice went to school and met the love of her life, Richard Peters. They were married in 1954. They lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lynn, Massachusetts and San Francisco, California before getting back to the Rocky Mountains. Staying true to her Butte, Montana roots, Clarice loved hiking and camping with friends, family and relatives. Mountain evenings were spent around the campfire, enjoying each other's company, reminiscing, and feasting on delicious food she made, like her famous chow mein. She spent precious time raising her two boys. She had many friends and enjoyed preparing meals for friends and her husband's engineering group. She also enjoyed attending to her flower garden, investigating/defending from Alzheimer's disease and volunteered at Swedish Medical Center here in Denver.
Clarice was kind and generous. She worked on getting a nursing degree. She was a great cook and inspired her sons to develop a love of cooking. Her granddaughter Kylie absolutely loves her mashed potatoes. Clarice was also very talented in quilting, making beautiful quilts for her home, her granddaughter and for others.
Clarice has left behind her husband of 67 years, Richard, her sons, Douglas (Linda) and Kenneth and her granddaughter, Kylie. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. A celebration of Life will be held in her honor on June 29, 2022, at Newcomer, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, in Lakewood, Colorado. It will be at 11:30am. She will live on in our hearts.
