Her Life Between the Dash
Claudette Hamilton of Lakewood, Colorado passed away in Denver, Colorado, after a short illness from her third recurrence of cancer.
She was born in Trenton, Missouri, on 11/25/1940 to Julian Bernard and Enith (Ellsworth) Hamilton. She was married to Larry Dickerson from 1961 to 1966 and John Gibeau from 1968 to 1978. She is survived by two sons Jeffrey (Lynn) Dickerson and Gregory (Alita) Dickerson; four grandchildren Jessica (Scott) Jones, Larry Dickerson, Meghan and Katie Dickerson, and one great grandchild Rebecca Patterson; her sister Annette Moline, nieces Ginger (Jeff) Shaw, Gayla (Kevin) Mortensen, and great nephews Mitchell and Kyle Little. Colton Mortensen and great niece Emilee Mortensen, who lovingly called her "Aunt Grandma".
She grew up in Modena, Missouri, before moving to Colorado in 3rd grade. She graduated from Johnstown, Colorado High School in 1958, Central Business College in Denver in 1959, and Regis College (Recap II) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Management in 1984. She had a successful 27 -year career in Banking and Finance and retired from First Interstate Bank as Senior Vice President managing the Real Estate Department.
She was a member of the Lakewood Christian Church, and enjoyed socializing with friends in Ports A Call, Book Club, and her Johnstown High School Classmate Group. She got great joy from volunteering to do deferred outside maintenance and keeping up all the gardens in her condominium complex.
This is what Claudette said about her "Life Outlook" Claudette was an idealist who was not utopian and a realist who was not cynical. She was decisive, Courageous, and could be forceful. She showed tolerance for others and flexibility in her thinking. She championed the underdog.
