Clifford L. McDonald was born on June 16, 1926 to Charles & Nellie McDonald in Somerset County Pennsylvania. After his father passed away at his young age of 2 years old he was raised by his mother Nellie and step father Raymond Sarver. He attended Berlin Brothers Valley High School. Cliff enlisted in the US Army in January of 1946 and was honorably discharged in July of 1947. He met the love of his life, Bertie McDonald, in January of 1952. They were married on August 19, 1952 in Frostburg, Maryland. The loving couple were blessed with three sons, Larry, Mark and Dean, four grandchildren, Gina, Lyndsay, Logan and Gavin and two great grand children, Troy and Danica.
Cliff worked at Gates Rubber Company for 31 1/2 years. He always loved being involved with the family and that continued with grandchildren. He loved going to Central City, watching the Rockies and playing video poker. They always had a garden that he took pride in and loved sharing his veggies. Cliff and Bertie enjoyed their post-retirement years when they were able to go to Laughlin, Nevada with their dear friends.
Cliff is survived by sons Larry (Cindy), Mark and Dean (Theda), Grandchildren Gina (Pat) Carnahan, Lyndsay, Logan, Gavin, Great Grandchildren Troy and Danica, Brother Tom Sarver, Sisters Jean Glotfelty, Shirley Lowery, and Janice Zipfel, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Bertie, parents and two brothers.
