Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 23 Psalms 1-6
Clifton Joseph Howard Jr was born to the late Clifton Howard Sr and Gertrude "Gertie" Mae Duplantis Howard on June 13, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a devoted Catholic and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Clifton (known to family and friends as "Jr or Wootie") had a curiosity for learning but felt the classroom teaching at that time in Thibodaux, Louisiana, was not giving him what he needed. He decided to spread his wings and joined the Job Corps.
He became a jubilant teenager, obtaining his GED and his associate degree from Pueblo Community College, Colorado, as an Auto Body Technician. He was mastering the skills of an auto body technician. As his talent and skill developed, opportunities started opening up.
Mr. Bill Bolton, former owner of Gold Star Hotlink Sausage Co. in Denver, Colorado, recognized Clifton's talents and offered to assist him in putting a business plan together as an Auto Body Shop owner. Clifton jumped at the opportunity and thrived tremendously!
Clifton Joseph Howard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Irene Suazo, daughters Cemetria J. Lewis Howard and Shawn Marie Farrow-Suazo, and son Christopher Scott Farrow-Suazo, all of Northglenn, Colorado.
Brothers Walter Sidney Howard of Omaha, Nebraska, Daniel Joseph Howard Sr (Pamela) of Aurora, CO, Aunt Mary Rose Duplantis Sims (Donald) of Aurora, CO., Aunt-in-law Patricia Lawson Duplantis (Thibodaux, LA), and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, and nieces, cousins, and other family members all over the United States.
Clifton was filled with love and laughter; when you were in his presence, he never failed to make you laugh and would end his conversations with either, "Don't forget to Pray!" "Jesus Loves You," or "I am no doubting Thomas."
Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Howard Sr., Gertrude "Gertie" Mae Duplantis Howard; siblings Healis P. Howard, Ricky Howard, and son Dewayne Timothy Suazo; grandparents, Irvin and Lillian (Porche) Duplantis, Reuben and Emily (Boseman) Howard, Uncles Healis J. Duplantis, Sr., Wilbert Howard, Samuel Howard and Louis Arsene, Sr. and Aunt Theresa Duplantis-Arsene.
