Conchita Esther Roybal Neal passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021, at the Rehabilitation Center at Sandalwood in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Esther was born to Martin Roybal and Crecencia Jaramillo Roybal on April 14, 1940, in San Ignacio, New Mexico.
Esther earned her high school degree, married and raised her three children, then returned back to school to obtain her Associates Degree in Accounting. She began her career with Mountain Bell in the accounting department and then was promoted to a mainframe operator. Esther worked in the telecommunications industry for 32 years until retirement. She went on to work another 13 years at Walmart and retired for good at age 81.
Esther was an outgoing, strong and independent woman who went out of her way to help others, especially her children. Esther was an amazing cook who made her legendary red chile for the entire family. She was a fun-loving person who loved to travel, spend time with family and friends, and she enjoyed life to the fullest.
Esther was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters Sofia Gregoria Roybal Torres and Sarah Julieta Roybal Chaves, and son, Mark Thomas Rojo. Esther is survived by her sister Maria Lucia "Lucy" Roybal DuCharme (Robert), daughters Christina Martinez (Art) and Pamela Frady (John). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rocky, Felicia, Charlie, Chelsea, Jamie, Brandi, Marisa, Jeremy, Andrew, and Sophia, and 13 great-grandchildren. Esther will be terribly missed by her nieces, nephews, and dear life-long friends.
The Rosary will be held at the Spirit of Christ Catholic Church at 7400 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado, on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 6pm. Mass is scheduled on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church beginning at 11:30am in the small chapel. Immediately following Mass, there will be a reception at Depot at Five Parks at 13810 W. 85th Drive, Arvada, Colorado, from 1pm-5pm.
The entire family would like to thank the care team at The Rehabilitation Center at Sandalwood, Denver Hospice, Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, as well as volunteers from Church in the City- Beth Abraham who are helping with the reception.
