Cora Baker

Cora Baker, 90 of Denver, Colorado passed on Sunday March, 31 2019. She was born to Alfonso and Carolina Sais, of Farisita, Colorado, on October 24th 1928. Cora was the youngest of 11 siblings. She was a devout Catholic.

She attended grade school in Farisita, Colorado and attended Jr. High in Alamosa, Colorado. In 1948 she relocated to Denver a place she would always call home.

Throughout Cora's life she held variety of positions that include blue collar, white collar, and hospitality. In her 30's she accompanied her former husband Floyd Baker Jr. (USAF retired) and moved to the Philippines with her daughter. There she supervised the dinning room at the golf club, on Clark Air Base. She particularly enjoyed being a personal assistant to retired Denver attorneys Frank and Ann Paulson. She enjoyed the variety assignments as well as, the opportunity to travel, quickly becoming close friends with the Paulsons. In all the positions she held, she enjoyed being able to meet different people from all walks of life.

Cora in her spare time enjoyed dancing, golf, as well as working with fabrics. Her favorite past time was bowling. After retirement, she would participate in both summer, and winter bowling leagues in bowling alleys around Denver.

Cora is survived by her two children: Son Charles Jaramillo of Concord, California and daughter Rita Baker of Denver, Colorado. As well as her two grandchildren, Julie Jaramillo, and Alan Baker.

She preceded in death by her parents Alfonso, and Carolina, as well as her siblings Sinsionita Sais, Olie Sais, Gasper Sais, Adeliada Sais, Joe Sais, Lida Gamble, Veta Meanea, Edward Sais, James Sais, and Doris Shadoan,

A memorial mass will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Thursday, April 11th at 2 p.m. A reception will be held following the mass at Peak Community Wellness Center, 6612 S. Ward Street, Littleton Colorado 80127, from 3:30-6:00 p.m.
