Dale Dean Luckey, a cherished soul and beloved member of the Northglenn community, gracefully departed this life on June 25, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on May 24, 1948, in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, Dale was the son of Margaret and Theodore Luckey. His formative years were spent in Denver, where he attended West High School, laying the groundwork for a life marked by dedication and joy.
Dale’s journey took a distinct path when he embraced the family legacy at Luckey Brothers Carnival, an enterprise that fostered not only a sense of community but also a lasting connection to the joy and laughter of countless individuals. It was amid the colorful rides and the joyous atmosphere of the carnival that Dale would find his life's greatest love. In 1971, he encountered Carman, who would become his partner in life and love. With a mischievous spirit, he once thought to humor her by spinning her round on a ride until she became unwell; however, in that moment of care and affection, their bond was truly born. They exchanged vows on March 1, 1972, in Littleton, Colorado, embarking upon a journey together filled with love, laughter, and enduring companionship.
Dale served as a Custodian for Jeffco Schools for two decades, a testament to his unwavering work ethic and dedication to the community. He was a man of simple pleasures, and his great love for fishing was a hallmark of his character. Those who knew Dale fondly recall his enthusiastic declaration, “I wanna go fishin,” a phrase that evokes memories of his unquenchable spirit for exploration and joy.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Carman Luckey, his son Timothy Luckey and daughter-in-law Amanda Armenta-Luckey, and his grandchildren: Tyler Luckey and his wife Chelsea, Christopher Luckey, Timothy Armenta-Luckey, and Alison Armenta. Moreover, his legacy continues through his cherished great-grandchildren, Remmi and Rynleigh Luckey.
Dale leaves behind a profound absence in the hearts of many, having been preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and his son David Luckey. The echoes of his laughter and the lessons of love he imparted will remain etched in the fond memories of those fortunate enough to know him. Dale Luckey will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather whose spirit will continue to light the paths of all who loved him.
A private memorial service to honor Dale's life and legacy will take place at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lakewood, Colorado, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:30 AM. In this intimate gathering, family and friends will come together to celebrate the remarkable life of a man who brought so much joy and love into their lives. As we reflect on Dale's journey, we hold him steadfastly in our hearts, cherishing the beautiful memories that will forever endure.
