Daleen Kay Laursen (Dee) was born March 6, 1959 to Dale & Lois Blankenbuhler in Denver, CO. She was raised in Arvada, CO with her 2 younger sisters. Dee was the quintessential big sister, bossing about, caring for, and sometimes threatening her sisters. She attended Fitzmorris Elementary, Oberon Jr. High, and Arvada West High School where she played the tuba in the marching band.
During high school she met her first husband Bill Blake and they were married July 30, 1983. She began a job with Sears which lasted over 40+ years until she retired. Daleen had 3 boys in quick succession and raised them while juggling work. She was always on hand to help the boys no matter the situation, and was always one to participate in family functions.
After her divorce from Bill, she married Tim Laursen on June 9, 2001. Tim and Daleen loved traveling to Orlando and having fun together with mutual friends.
Daleen was a charter member of the Arvada Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was the Madam president for a 2-year term at the Arvada and then again at the Northwest aerie (after transferring there). She held a committee/function position every year, and was the games manager for bingo. She was active in the State Auxiliary committees and was State Madam trustee for 3 years. She held a dual membership with Orlando Auxiliary #42399
Daleen was a life-long smoker and her health began to fail after she retired. She attempted to keep up with activities but the decline was noticeable. She passed away suddenly on December 8, 2022, from influenza A, exacerbated by COPD. It was very sudden and shocking to the everyone who knew and loved her.
Daleen is survived by her husband Tim, her sons Randy(wife Corinna), Mike and Rick. She had four beautiful grandchildren Amorrina & Ambryella Blake, Kenzley Blake, and Elijah. She is also survived by her two sisters Sherri Lewis (husband Brian) and Kara Larson. Daleen has five nieces and a nephew, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and a few close cousins. She will be sorely missed by everyone in the family as well as the many friends she has made.
We will see you again someday Daleen.
