Daniel A. Denny, 83, of Aurora, CO, passed away on August 4, 2021 in his home after a long, hard fought battle with Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary, who was able to care for him in their home.
He was born to the late Arthur and Barbara Denny on December 24, 1937 in Belleville, IL. Daniel attended Cathedral High School and Belleville Area College. He was in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. In 1957 Daniel and Mary wed in Belleville, IL. They were high school sweethearts.
Daniel and Mary moved to Oklahoma City, OK in 1971 for a better opportunity and to raise their three children. In 1985, life took them to Colorado where their two daughters resided. Daniel was a devoted family man, enjoying his children's activities and later in life his grandchildren's activities. He enjoyed bowling, slot machines and riding his Harley. Daniel was a devout Catholic, attending mass daily until he could no longer drive.
Daniel was a proud Teamster spending most of his career in the transit industry. He retired from RTD in 2003.
Daniel is survived by three children: Stephen (Donna) Denny of Yukon, OK; Ellen (Tom) Copper of Aurora, CO; and Laura (Rick) Glavich of Parker, CO. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Christopher Copper of Centennial, CO; Taylor (Jeremy) of Mustang, OK; Blaine Denny of Yukon, OK; and Sarah Copper of Manitou Springs, CO. Daniel and Mary had been blessed with two great grandchildren: Sawyer and Sage Fisher of Mustang, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and in laws.
Instead of flowers or donations, go hug your family, have a beer, ride your Harley, throw a bowling ball or drop a couple quarters in a slot machine. Enjoy life.
