Daniel Garcia

Daniel Leo Garcia was born on August 26, 1947 in Alamosa, Colorado to parents Max and Sylvia. One of 14 children, Dan grew up in Aurora and attended Aurora Central High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. was a Vietnam War veteran. Dan loved to travel (especially on a cruise ship), was an expert joke and story teller, and the life of every party or gathering he attended. He was an exceptionally kind, compassionate, and generous man, evidenced by his commitments to many charities and experienced by everyone he loved. The love of Dan's life was Curtis Drew, his partner of 27 years. The couple married in 2005 and Dan's favorite topic of conversation was his amazing, adored, and talented husband. A close second to Curtis: the Denver Broncos. Though at times he loved to hate them, he never missed a game and proudly displayed his Broncos pride regardless of the season or day of the week. Dan was not ready to leave this world, Curtis, or his spunky girl, Sadie the Chiweenie, but his battle with cancer ended on October 13, 2022 at Collier Hospice in Wheat Ridge. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, 13 brothers and sisters, darling Siamese cat, Beijing, and beloved Min Pin, Joey. His infectious smile, laugh, and presence will be missed by so many, including his neighborhood family in Lakewood.
On October 31st a visitation will be held at Newcomer West Metro Chapel 901 S Sheridan Blvd Lakewood Colorado at 11:00AM. A funeral service will follow at 12:00PM. Dan will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery. A reception will follow at 2:00 p.m. Lookin' Good Restaurant 66 Sheridan Blvd.
