Daral Lee Willeford, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 28, 2023 after a long battle with lung cancer.
She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on June 20, 1946, along with her identical twin sister Carol Dee, to Howard and Doris Shupe.
Daral is survived by her husband of 58 years, Curtis Willeford and their 3 children Michael Willeford, Donna (Anton) Mallard and Lisa Johnson, and her 3 grandchildren Taylor Haan, Jaden Johnson and Olivia Mallard. She is also survived by her 3 siblings, Carol (Jack) Grigonis, Norman Shupe and Randy (Lucette) Shupe.
Daral grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Dundalk High School in 1964, where she met the love of her life, Curtis. He joined the Air Force right after high school, and after several assignments around the world, they were stationed in Colorado in 1970 where they would stay and raise their family.
Daral and Curt loved to camp and fish in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. They competed in numerous fishing tournaments and were an unstoppable pair and brought home multiple trophies. Her favorite place to travel was anywhere with her sister Carol, especially to Las Vegas for a weekend filled with Willy Wonka and The Wizard of Oz penny slots!
Daral spent her career as an Executive Assistant in the Real Estate and Healthcare industries. After her retirement, she found her true passion in honoring the Veterans of our country. She served as the Secretary/Treasurer for The Rocky Mountain Honor Flight organization. She took great pride in being able to contribute to such a meaningful cause.
