Daryl M. Brown

Daryl Brown lost his battle with cancer on December 16, 2020 in Loveland, Colorado.

He was born on May 29, 1947 in Glenwood, Iowa to Lucille and Glyn Brown.

He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1965.

Daryl attended the University of North Dakota before joining the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
He served from 1966 - 1970 on the USS Glennon (DD-840).

After military service, Daryl became an ironworker and took on jobs in Omaha, Nebraska and Denver, Colorado, where he worked on a skyscraper dubbed the "Cash Register Building".

After 29 years inspecting and repairing railcars, Daryl retired from Greenbrier Industries, Inc. in 2012.

When not working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, and gardening.

He was an avid reader with history as his favorite subject.

He loved to dance and listen to classic country music.

Preceding Daryl in death are his parents and younger brother, Reg Brown.

Daryl is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa; daughters, Lisa (Torin) Haskell of Castle Rock, Colorado and Traci (Ron) Gile of Fort Collins, Colorado; stepson, Johnnie Kimball of Carthage, Tennessee; grandchildren and great-granddaughters; and brother, Ron Brown, of Denver, Colorado.

Memorial services will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Due to Covid-19, services will be limited to a small number of participants.

Memorial donations may be directed to Daryl's favorite charities: the USO, Salvation Army or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
