"Bikers Prayer"

May the sun rise up in front of me,

May the rain fall behind me,

And the wind follow beside me.

May God guard my travels,

For the Lord knows the road ahead of me.

Keep me safe, Lord, through swirling turns

and rolling hills.

Let the edge guide me to the mountaintops,

Let the moonlight guide the night,

Let the air of spring breathe life into my soul,

To begin a new journey and adventure,

Out on the open road.

David Allan Mitchell "Crazy Dave" was called home to Heaven at the age of 75 on January 25, 2025, in Denver, CO.

Born on February 8, 1949, in Mattoon, IL, David's life was marked by his sharp wit, intelligence, and a remarkably free-spirited nature, which endeared him to all who knew him.

David's early years on the family farm instilled in him a strong work ethic, which seamlessly transitioned into his professional life. He pursued and attained a bachelor's degree in welding, a skill he mastered and practiced throughout his career. Beyond his professional pursuits, David was a full-time biker, a passion that was both a hobby and a significant aspect of his lifestyle.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Mitchell; brother, Michael Mitchell; daughters, Amy Mitchell and Jennifer Mitchell; and grandson, James. David was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Mitchell; mother, Jo; and brother, Arlan Mitchell.

David's hobbies included motorcycle riding and actively participating in the AA community, where he was dedicated to sharing his journey and working with others. His commitment to these activities showcased his generous spirit and desire to support and uplift those around him.

A memorial service will be held on February 15th, beginning with an AA meeting, followed by a gathering at Wheelz Bar & Grille. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in memoriam to his daughters.

"3rd Step Prayer"

God, I offer myself to Thee-

to build with me and to do

with me as Thou wilt. Relieve

me of the bondage of self,

that I may do better do thy will.

Take away my difficulties,

that victory over them may

bear witness to those I would

help of Thy power, Thy Love,

and Thy way of me. May I do

Thy will always!
