David Trujillo

We are celebrating a new life for David, please dress accordingly.

David "Hola" Trujillo, 70, of Englewood, CO went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on May 10, 2021 at 10:20 p.m. at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO.

David was born on March 7, 1951 at 7:20 a.m. to Elfido Trinidad Trujillo and Mary Lily West Trujillo in Bear Creek, CO. A very small community by Walsenburg, CO. He was born at home and delivered by a midwife. David was number 5 out of 16 children. He was the 5th child to leave this earth. Five is Grace.

David was a very hard working man. He was a miner for the Gilman Mine in Gilman, CO and for the Allen Mine in Las Animas County, CO. In his early 20's, he had a very bad accident at the Allen Mine, that crushed his legs resulting in the end of his career as a miner. At about the age of 24, he was involved in a very bad car accident, where the doctor said he'd never walk again. David didn't give up though and our Dear Lord Jesus Christ healed him. He came to serve the Lord at the age of 33. He was a deacon and helped out at the church's food bank at the Christian church he had attended since 1984.

David was a 'Jack of All Trades' and could do carpentry, plumbing, roofing, welding and being a mechanic. He loved living in his home, that he built out of rock, in Toltec, CO. He had many hobbies and loved to go fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, riding horses and he would eat all kinds of crazy things. Gail, his wife, says he reminded her of John the Baptist in the wilderness.

He is survived by: his wife, Gail Trujillo of Englewood, CO. Siblings: Eloysia Romero, Irene Trujillo, Richard Trujillo and Sammy Trujillo all of (Walsenburg,CO), Mercy Fresquez of (Colorado Springs, CO), Elfido Trujillo & (Brenda) of (Ava, MO), Cecilia Trujillo, Bertha Aguirre & (Floyd) of (Denver, CO), Rose Barron & (Phil) of (Arvada, CO), Tito Trujillo of (Englewood, CO), Filemon Trujillo & (Candice) of (Corpus Christi, TX). Children: David Trujillo, Jr., Cleto Trujillo &(Corrina), Rachel Trujillo, Zoe Villagrana &(Eduardo). Step-Children: Crystal Gallardo, Laura Gallardo &(Daniel), Juan Morales. 24 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings, (James Trujillo, Marty Manzanares, Henry Montoya & Sara Trujillo).

David will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.
