Geneva Frances Holomon was born February 20, 1936, to the union of Robert and Serena Arthur Holomon in Camden, South Carolina.
Geneva received her formal education at Jackson High School in Camden, South Carolina.
Her Christian journey started at Camden Second Presbyterian Church, Camden, SC were her family attended for many years. Geneva accepted Christ as her Savior at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Denver, CO. While living in Charlotte, NC, she was a member of Progressive Baptist Church and Victory Missionary Baptist Church. Her journey continued as she transitioned to Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, Denver, CO where she served as a Deaconess, a member of the choir, a member of the Worship Committee, and in various of roles within the church. She loved her church family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will never be forgotten for the many contributions made during her lifetime.
Geneva held various employment positions, primarily with her church homes. In later years, she worked at King Baptist Church Daycare Center, Denver, CO as a teacher. Her quiet strength, guidance, and faith in God enabled her to provide everyone with a smile and loving embrace that left a lasting impact on all the students' lives she touched.
She met and fell in love with the late Staff Sergeant Marion Drayton. They were united in Holy matrimony on September 3, 1955 and to this union they were blessed with three children. Geneva was later married to the late Walter Betts in 1964.
Geneva Betts departed life on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Serena Arthur Holomon; son Michael A. Drayton; sisters Beatrice Brown, Daisy Baynard, Flossie Reese, Lottie Bell; brothers Billy Holomon, Clarence Holomon, and Arthur Holomon.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughters Tanja Drayton, Aurora, CO, Lershone (Jim) Campbell, Denver, CO; granddaughter Tylesha Drayton, Denver, CO; grandson Keson (Jocelyn) Drayton, Aurora, CO; and great granddaughter Mieko Drayton, Aurora, CO; sister Janie Reddick, Charlotte, NC; brother Charles (Shufronia) Holomon, Philadephia, PA; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and residents at Higgings Plaza, Denver, CO.

Thank you to the staff of Denver Health and Hospitals and Emerald Beryl Homecare LLC for your devotion and care of our mother. We are forever grateful.
