Born March 25, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky to the most wonderful parents Debby could have ask for in Howard and Takako Grogan, who preceded her in death, yet not in spirit. Debby was the 3rd oldest of five children. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Thomas Grogan. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Sam Armstrong, Calvin Armstrong and Justin Thomas Armstrong (J.T.); daughters, Naketa Armstrong (Cedric) Jackson, Kaitlyn Armstrong (Darius) Johnson and Dion Hills of Atlanta, Ga. She also leaves three loving sisters, Betty (Wallace) Hatfield of Atlanta, Georgia, Terry (Bernard) Halliburton and Linda Grogan; her four grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Debby came into her own after growing up as a military brat. Debby loved cooking, which lead her to excel in her field after graduating from George Washington High School, as a member of a team for over 35 years between Mercy Medical Center and St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver. Debby was a wonderful wife, mother, and just a plain overall fun and exciting person who was a joy to be around. She loved entertaining and there was nothing greater than watching her as she hosted like no one's business. Debby loved her family as much as her joy of cooking, dancing, and singing Happy Birthday songs. She also loved Elvis Presley and her favorite song, "Me and Mrs. Jones." She loved that Billy Paul song to the point she wore the vinyl off the record and with that being said, God as her witness would testify on her behalf, the love she showed to others goes without saying she was blessed as much as those she came in contact with over her joyous life span. Debby will be remembered as well as missed by all that knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her husband, Eugene Armstrong, and/or left in care of Newcomer Funeral Chapel.
