Delbert Frank Aude of Arvada was born in Salida, Colorado as the fifth child of William C. and Bessie Mae Aude, on March 27, 1928. He grew up in the Salida area and after graduating from high school he worked for the railroad and then joined the U. S. Army. Most of his Army years were served in Alaska.
He lived in Washington state and several cities in Colorado before moving to Leadville, CO where he was the Manager of Rio Grande Motorway. This is where he met and married Imogean Cole on April 7, 1967.
They moved to Arvada in 1969 where he drove trucks for Consolidated Freightways, HW Moore and King Soopers. He retired from King Soopers after 16 years in 1994. Mr. Aude was a member of Masonic Corinthian Lodge #35, A. F. and A.M. of Leadville. He was a talented carpenter and loved working with his hands, making beautiful stained glass art-work, wood crafts, even room additions. He also loved driving semi tractor-trailer rigs, the great outdoors, family and fishing.
Del passed away on February 11, 2007. A son, Garry Cole, preceded Del in death. He is survived by his wife Imogean, two daughters Pam Quinn (Don) of Denver and Paula Williams (Troy) of Arvada; daughter-in-law Ruth Cole-Ertl of Morrison; five grandchildren David Cole (Lia) of Parker, Matthew McDaugale (Catherine) of Aurora, Karin Wessbecker (Eric) of Parker, Haley Williams (Jason Jackson) of Westminster, Kacey Williams (Kelly Gillin) of Westminster; seven great-grandchildren Alec McDaugale, Cody, Blake and Marc Wessbecker, Megan and Joshua Cole and Zachary Williams.
Funeral Services, Tuesday February 20, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Newcomer Family Funeral Home - West Metro Chapel, with Rev. Eddie Graber of Parker, CO officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "B" at 12:30 P.M., with Military Honors by the U. S. Army and the All Veterans Honor Guard.
