Dennis F. Hejtmanek

Dennis Hejtmanek of Thornton, CO was called home to be with our Lord April 5, 2022.

On September 4, 1930, Dennis was born to Joseph and Anna (Cerny) Hejtmanek, he was the youngest of 5 children. He attended school and graduated from high school in Clarkson, NE. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and, upon completion of his service, enrolled in trade school learning to service and repair farm implements. Dennis enjoyed a long and successful career advancing to advisory and instructional capacities with Minneapolis Moline, White Corporation and Case IH.

On February 13, 1955, he married Gretchen (Dannehl) Fritz in Milford, NE. The family moved numerous times related to Dennis's work, including Nebraska, Kansas, Idaho, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Montana and Minnesota, before retiring to Colorado in 1986.
Dennis enjoyed being active in his church serving as Elder, gardening, news of the area where he grew up, Polka music and socializing with family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his step-sons, Dean Fritz (Jan) of Broomfield and Dale Fritz (Laura) of Johnstown; granddaughters Kris Maher of Marion, IA and Lisa Fritz of Broomfield, CO; seven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and many loving and caring nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Hejtmanek; wife Gretchen; brother Joe Hejtmanek; brother Emil Hejtmanek; sister Elsie Krajicek; brother Blaza Hejtmanek; daughter-in-law Linda Fritz; and grandsons Allen and Jay Fritz.

Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Homes of Aurora. Viewing will be April 13, at 1:00 at Faith Lutheran Church, 3999 West South First Street, Johnstown, CO, followed by funeral services at 2:00, Rev. Victor Young officiating. Interment will follow at Johnstown Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice in Dennis's memory.

Any floral arrangements may be delivered to Newcomer East Metro Chapel 190 Potomac Street Aurora CO 80011 by 9:00am April 13th 2022 for delivery by Newcomer to Church for the service.
