Dennis R. Petersohn, 75 years, youngest son of Russell and Catherine was born March 3, 1944 in Tingley, Iowa and departed this life on November 30, 2019 after a lengthy illness.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years Vicki, son Brian (Randi), granddaughters Emily and Jillian, brother Gary (Teena), nieces Erica and Megan Petersohn of Tingley, Iowa, and special friends Jason and Mareile Webster, Sam and Mary Holder, Loretta and Mark, and Greg, lisa and Joey Aigner.

Dennis was a member of the V.F.W. Lodge #178 in Colorado and Consistory #1 of Denver, being raised to 32nd degree with his father Russell in November 1977.

Dennis was raised on a beautiful farm in Tingley, Iowa along with his brother Gary. They spent many years there until he decided that the Navy and Police work was his calling. Dennis served in the U. S. Navy for four years on the U.S.S. Turner touring many countries during his tour of duty. After his Naval commission, he was a meat cutter for a couple of years before he entered the Denver Police Department. He started as a patrolman, working his way upward to detective for the Vice Bureau at Stapleton, and then at D.I.A. He had a narcotics dog, Belker, for 10 years who passed away on Easter Sunday 1992. He was with the force for 30 years when he retired with an honorable retirement, doing patrol duty, S.W.A.T team, K-9 and under cover narcotics.

His farm life with his brother and his police life were the things her cherished along with his son Brian. He loved him with all of his heart along with Brian's wife Randi and his grandchildren Emily and Jillian.

Dennis was so proud to be part of an elite group of officers at DIA Airport. They nicknamed him Gramps and he loved it. He always considered these men his family.
