Denver Fox

Denver C Fox, longtime disability rights advocate and educator, died on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the age of 85. Denver was born and raised in San Diego, California, and had lived in Denver, Colorado for over 50 years. He served as a Second Lieutenant and squadron commander in the Air Force, graduated from San Diego State University, and received his Doctorate of Education from the University of Denver. He began his career as an elementary school teacher and moved on to direct teacher education at Loretto Heights College and other institutions. His Christian faith was very important to him, and he lived his life in accordance with that faith. Above all, Denver was devoted to his family. His two sons Tim and Andy both had significant disabilities, and Denver became a passionate and well-known advocate on behalf of people with disabilities. He loved the outdoors, and early in life was a forest ranger in the mountains of Southern California. He had many interests, including biking (he rode his bike is 10-20 miles per day into his 80s), music, and telling dad jokes.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nora Jane Palmer Fox, his son Timothy Fox, his daughter-in-law Amy Robertson, and sisters Janice Fox and Patricia Brinkman. He was preceded in death by his son Andrew Fox, his dad Denver Colorado Fox, and his mother Luella Hart Fox.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Mountain Time on December 28, 2024, at Parker United Methodist Church, 11805 S Pine Dr, Parker Colorado.
