Diane Jean Bagan, born on December 5, 1939, peacefully passed away in her Aurora home on Saturday January 25th at the age of 85.

Diane lived a remarkable life filled with lots of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She had love in her heart for her family. She was fiercely independent and navigated life’s challenges with strength and resilience.

Born in Denver, Colorado Diane was the daughter of Herbert and Helen Roedel. Herbert passed away in 1944 in WWII. Helen Roedel remarried Edward Sweeten

She went to work at The Denver Mint and eventually had a 27-year career at Lowry Air Force Base, Department of Defense as a civilian employee.

Diane was a loving and hardworking mother. Regardless of the challenges of being a single mom she always took good care of her children and encouraged them to excel at anything they wished to pursue. She always motivated her children to be successful in life. Even when her children were grown she always offered them a place to stay in her home if they needed her.

Diane loved to celebrate holidays and enjoyed giving and receiving gifts. She loved to have fun and had a great sense of humor. Just when you didn’t expect it she would say something funny that would make the whole room laugh. She loved going to movies and lunches. She loved shopping (especially the Brighton Store) and wearing beautiful clothes.

Diane had many hobbies she enjoyed throughout her life. She loved cheerleading, debating,

dancing, hiking, and working out.

Diane is survived by her brother Carl Roedel, her son Thomas, her son Daniel and wife Sharon Bagan, her daughter Kelly, her daughter Julie and husband Tony Upton,

her son Joseph and wife Jennifer Bagan, and her daughter Patricia. Diane is preceded in death by son Michael and son-in-law Odell Orr.

She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Michael, Stephanie, Lauren, Christina, Christopher, McKenna, Haley, and Luke, along with 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by nephew Kevin and niece Cari.

Later in life her dogs Ollie, Dolly and Misty gave her so much pleasure.

Her family will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Diane Jean Bagan will be deeply missed by her family. She will always be remembered for her love, strength, hard work, and sense of humor.

We all thank Tom for always taking care of our mom.

May she rest in peace and we look forward to the day we are reunited in heaven.
