Born in Denver October 11, 1921. Married Mildred Thayer Dawson December, 1942. Graduated from CU Engineering School, Phi Beta Kappa and other honors. Member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Served four years in the US Air Force during World War II as a meteorologist. Worked as a project manager on oil refineries in Canada and Louisiana. Enjoyed volunteering in Head Start and serving as director of duplicate bridge at Platte Park Senior Center. Survived by his wife; daughters Pam Rice and Nancy Dawson; sons Dan Dawson and John Dawson; sons-in-law Michael Rice and Stephen Jones; daughter-in-law Noreen Dawson; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Private family services. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Denver Public Library would be appreciated.
