Born Dolores Ida Conrad, a native Denverite, Dolores was the daughter of Marie DeBaun and Horace S. Conrad. We will remember her as a strong woman filled with courage and determination. She supported us in our struggles and cheered us on with our accomplishments: from being a voice/theater coach and costume designer, to helping with school assignments and science projects. We fondly remember the playhouse she made us that fit over a card table and how she passed on her love of sewing and of needlework to us. Mother constantly nurtured us and was there for the births of her grandchildren and doted on her great-grandchildren.
Mom helped support the family by working when Dad was going to dental school, and years later used her artistic skills by working as Dad’s lab technician. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. She was creative and was always perfecting a new art skill. Over the years, she did leather work, ceramics, all types of needle point, x-stitch, embroidery, quilting, and of course developed her drawing and painting skills, becoming quite an accomplished watercolorist. She was a great observer of nature, which was reflected in her paintings. Golf filled the rest of her life with pure joy! Mom and Dad traveled the world playing golf with their golf buddies into their 90’s.
Mother tucked us in every night, gave us a kiss and said, “I love you!” Thank you Mom!
The family respectfully asks for no flowers.
