Dolores was born on June 16, 1930, in Concordia, Kansas. She was the oldest of three children. When her family moved to Liberal, Kansas, she met Dick in a high school typing class. They married in 1948, starting an impressive journey that lasted more than 73 years! Dolores worked in a local cleaner's business until Linda was born in 1950.
Dolores was a loving mother and wife, who enjoyed singing with The Mother Singers, a local choir group in Liberal that traveled for many of their performances. She was also an excellent seamstress and sewed most of Linda's wardrobe, even through Linda's high school years. She never worked again until Linda went to college in 1968. She devoted her life to raising Linda and stayed active in Linda's life until Linda was married in 1970. Her dedication to Dick and Linda continued until her passing on July 31, 2021.
Dolores loved to camp, read, and cook. Her wonderful Fluffy Salad was a hit at family gatherings and Potlucks. Dick and Dolores lived in Colorado Springs, Aurora and then in Federal Heights where they spent 15 years in Holiday Hills before building a home on Ralph and Linda's property in Parker in 2015.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Dick; her daughter, Linda; her son-in-law, Ralph; 9 nieces and nephews. Through Linda's marriage to Ralph, Dolores also had three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren who called her "GG", which she dearly loved.
Dolores was the "Light of Our Lives". All those who loved her will feel her loss forever.
