Dolores J. Porreca

Dolores J. Porreca, 86, of Edgewater, Colorado, formerly of Beacon, New York, passed away September 20, 2007 at her daughter's home, after a long illness.

Mrs. Porreca was born September 7, 1921 in Beacon, New York to Thomas McElrath and Grace (King) McElrath. She graduated from Beacon High School. On June 30, 1942, she married James Porreca. They were married until his death on July 10, 1969.

She worked for many years in the Customer Service Department of the Albany Savings Bank and retired in 1983. Mrs. Porreca had lived in the Beacon area since birth and relocated to Edgewater, Colorado in 2004 to be with her daughter and family. She loved holding her great-great grandchildren. After moving to Colorado, she missed her life long friend, Marion Tomkins.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Nancy Shoots) Porreca, of Edgewater, CO; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Gracen, Heather and Sophia Porreca; Eddy, Danielle, Ki and Layla Shoots; Trinity, Tyia and Tiana Johnson, all of Colorado; as well as many relatives and friends still living in the Beacon, New York area.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 9:30A.M. at the Libby Funeral Home, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, New York. Interment will follow at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill, New York. Friends may call at the Libby Funeral Home from 7:00P.M. until 9:00P.M. Friday, September 28, 2007.
