Don L. Nixon Jr.

August 11, 1977 — June 22, 2024

Born August 11, 1977 in the beautiful Mile High City of Denver Colorado. Don Leon Nixon Jr has 3 beautiful daughters, Thalia and Kiara Doyle-Nixon, Lily Johnson-Nixon and one handsome son, Ty Kyrall Di-Shi Nixon. He also shared his beautiful moments with his two sisters, Ruth Sanderson and Gloria Lightner and one brother, Bobby Lightner Jr. DJ, as we nicknamed him, graduated from Montbello High School at the tender age of 18. He loved playing sports such as football with the Montbello Falcons in his younger years.

DJ was a hard worker that was skilled as a handyman that could fix anything.

As he grew fond of the artistry in sketching and drawing, he became a skilled artist who loved to draw cartoonist figures, spirit of the mind and anything his keen eye can see, he drew! DJ loved laughter, he loved to smile, he loved to be around family, he loved to be loved! He was that beautiful spirit who would love to make the world go round. To know him was to love him. There are at least 46 years of memories that anyone could mention of all that he meant to us, but most of all was the love and care he placed in our hearts.

His most intriguing interests were dancing, sports, music and movies. He loved to Binge watch the “Good Times” sitcom, and the drastic horror films that made our skin crawl. He loved to indulge in the finest cuisine as we all do, as he says (I’m like a fat kid who loves cake) (smile). His favorite football team of all times was the almight Kansas City Chiefs. You couldn’t tell him nothing about his team, he was a true ride or die fan! If you knew DJ, your memory of him would be his caring spirit and his love for people. DJ loved the Lord with all his heart and soul as he first heard his cry and pitied every groan (Psalms 116). He will always be remembered for his laughter, his smile, his intriguing zest for life, his style, gift of drawing, and caring for others.

Don Leon Nixon Jr. was called to glory on Saturday, June 22, 2024 where he met his master.
