Donald C. Knaus
82, of Denver, CO, passed away November 28, 2007. He was born April 6, 1925 to Carl & Fern Knaus in Boulder, CO. He served in the Army-Air Force during WWII from August 1943 to 1945 as a bombardier in the Pacific Theater. He attended Cal-Poly-Tech for 4 years. He returned home to Longmont and started working for Dow Chemical Company at Rocky Flats in 1952, and retired from there in 1985 after 33 years of service as a machinist. He married Doris Ingram in 1958 and raised her then 10 year old daughter. He loved gardening, fishing, woodworking, trap-shooting, reading, especially fond of the Civil War. His is survived by his wife: Doris; step-daughter: Barbara (Scott) Davenport of Mesa, AZ; sister: Darleen (Milton) Bittinger of Cheyenne, WY; half-brother: Hugh (Patricia) Knaus of Ft. Collins; half sister: Rebecca (Lansin) Carmean of Broomfield; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Friday, December 7th 1:30 pm Ft. Logan National Cemetery Staging Area "B".
