Donald Ray Livesay suffered from Alzheimer's Disease and Lung Cancer. He was surrounded by those who loved and cared for him as he passed away peacefully on September 7, 2019, at the age of 86. He was born August 22, 1933 in Denver, Colorado.
He is survived by daughter, Sandi Schneider (Livesay); David Arabie (Son-in-law-Kathy); son, Timothy (Valorie) Livesay; and Vicki (Allen) Macklberg. He had six grandchildren: Heather Macklberg; Robert Schneider; Kathlynn Simpson; Joseph Schneider; Stephanie (Justin) Dial; and Richard Schneider; and one great-grandson, Jaxxon Dial.
Donald is a Marine Veteran. He retired as a mechanic from King Soopers Bakery in 1993 and was a man who worked hard for his family and was always supportive to those who he loved. He was artistic and loved to paint and draw. He also like building things and reciting quirky poems to anyone who would listen. He loved baseball and football and enjoyed the outdoors. He was proud of his family and towards the end always asked about his parents, his siblings, and his grandchildren. He was bold yet soft-hearted when it came to his family. He had some impact in all who he knew and loved and will truly be missed.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Fay (Easter) Livesay who he will at last be reunited with, his "hummy." He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Arabie (Livesay).
A poem from Rose Bud and Peapod:
My grandfather was a quiet man, but his silence could speak volumes
The warmth of his gaze said, "I will keep you safe."
The gentleness of his hand said, "You're precious to me."
His note of approval for a job well done said, "I respect you."
In the years to come, I may not remember many of the words my grandfather spoke, but the memories of what he conveyed without speaking a word will stay in my HEART
Rest Easy Dad!
