Donald Nelson

January 28, 1936 — April 18, 2022

Donald E. Nelson was born on January 28th, 1936. He was the third son of Enoch and Elin Nelson of Niagara, Wisconsin. He was raised in Iron Mountain, Michigan. His love for nature and the outdoors followed him throughout his entire life.
Don joined the United States Air Force, in which he dedicated 20 years of service, and was honorably retired. During his time in the military, Don traveled all around the world.
While serving as a lifeguard in Pasadena, TX, he met the love of his life, Gladys. They were happily married for 67 years, and were the proud parents to three wonderful daughters. Karen, Terri and Cathy. They were also blessed with seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He always enjoyed family gatherings, parties and social events. He would tell everyone "You don't have to leave so soon!". He took great pride in his extended family.
Don passed away peacefully in Aurora, Co, on April 8th, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.
Don will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, and amazing story-telling capabilities. His legacy will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His faith and devotion to God will shine for all of eternity.

A memorial service will be held on: Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 12:00 P.M.
