Donald was born January 30, 1944, in Anthony, KS to LaVern and Gladys (Burton) Troyer.
He was raised in Rago, KS. He moved to Hutchinson to attend Hutchinson Junior College.
He was drafted with the 1W Service during the Vietnam War and was sent to Denver, CO for his service as an orderly at Rose Memorial Hospital, where he met his wife Dona.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, beekeeping, gardening, and canning what he grew.
He is survived by his wife, Dona Troyer; his son and his spouse Darin and Cheryl Troyer; his daughter Deanette Troyer; his siblings Al (Janell) Troyer, Karen (Mike) Coldren, and Tharen Herl. Also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, LaVern Troyer; his mother Gladys Troyer; his brothers Larry Troyer and Duayne Troyer
A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
