Donald Allen Veasman (Don) was born on February 20, 1933, near Dixon, Missouri, a son of Garret and Ferol May (Somers) Veasman, and departed this life on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at home with his family.
Don was united in marriage on June 16, 1957, at Campground Christian Church near Meta, Missouri to Ruth Rollins and to this union two children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents Garret and Ferol May Veasman and his siblings, Norma Elfert, Marion Veasman, Nellie Rollins and nephew, Ronnie Rollins.
He was a United States Army veteran having served from 1954 to 1956 during the Korean War era and was honorably discharged.
Don was baptized early in life and was a member of Abiding Hope Lutheran Church, Littleton, Colorado. He was strong in his faith and enjoyed reading his Bible and daily devotions, along with watching online services weekly.
He worked at Norgren (IMI), Littleton, Colorado, for 31 years as a die caster in manufacturing. After he retired, he then worked at Frontier Airlines, Denver International Airport, at the weather desk in operations, for 10 years.
Don enjoyed life in many ways including family get-togethers, traveling, mountain hiking, nature, bird-feeding, researching, reading and sports (especially St. Louis Cardinals and Denver Broncos).
Those left to mourn Don's passing include: his wife Ruth, Morrison, Colorado; his children and their spouses: Greg (Stephanie) Veasman, Arvada, Colorado; Rochelle (Suzy) Veasman, Morrison, Colorado; his grandson Dane (Nikki) Veasman, Arvada, Colorado; his granddaughter Mikayla Veasman, USAF; his great-grandson Ryland Veasman, Arvada, Colorado, and his great-granddaughter Ila Veasman, Arvada, Colorado; and niece Bette Waldron, Redondo Beach, California; nephews Gary (Louise) Veasman, Federal Heights, Colorado; Jerry (Carolyn) Rollins, Dixon, Missouri; Lonnie (Virginia) Rollins, Dixon, Missouri; and his sister-in-law Fern Veasman, Lakewood, Colorado and many friends.
Under the direction of Newcomer Mortuary, Lakewood, Colorado, Don's memorial is being scheduled for a later date at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado, with full military honors. Interment will be in the Fort Logan Columbarium.
