Donald Ray Warner, 85, of Lakewood, died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday morning on the 24th of January, 2023.
Donald was born to Nina Bell and George Warner on December 27, 1937 in Muhlenberg County, KY. He graduated as the Valedictorian of his class from Graham High School and earned a rare scholarship to the University of Kentucky. He graduated from KU with a civil engineering degree and was immediately hired by the US Bureau of Reclamation in Denver, CO.
Donald married his high school sweetheart, Judy Carolyn Southard, on August 30, 1958.
After a 6-month stay in California doing supervision of field installations, Donald settled down in Lakewood, CO. He and his wife Judy Warner raised 2 daughters, Kelli and Karla, and 1 son, Dan. Donald rose through the ranks of his work successfully and eventually became Branch Chief of Substation Design for the Western Area Power Administration before his retirement in 1990.
Donald was an avid woodworker and hunter. His woodworks have graced the homes of both loved ones and clients alike and are highly prized for their quality and beauty.
Donald is survived by his wife Judy and 3 children, Kelli Whiteley of Longmont, CO, Karla Cash of Rapid City, SD and Dan Warner of Stuttgart, Germany. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

The 12:30pm Viewing and 1:30 p.m. Services will be held on February 1st at:
