Aurora, Colorado – Donna Lorraine Meyer, a long-time resident of the Denver area, died on Thursday, July 18th at the Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center due to complications of breast cancer.
Born in 1949 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Donna and her family lived in both Andover and Eagle Butte, South Dakota, where she attended Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Elementary & High School. She continued her education at Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen. After attending Northern State, she moved to Aurora, Colorado, where she worked for many years in the insurance industry.
Donna loved bowling, crocheting, and various crafts, and was a devoted fan of the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with a large group of friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Regina and Leo H. Meyer, brother Leo E. Meyer, brother-in-law Herman Wolken, and long-time companion Bill Bauman.
She is survived by her sister, Clarabelle Wolken (Las Vegas, NV), brothers Eugene Meyer (Hawthorne, CA) and Norman Meyer (Eagle Butte, SD), nieces Marie Puffpaff, Karel Biggs, Lori Kennedy, Dorene Pickup and Beth Knotts, nephew Tim Wolken, numerous great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
