Dorothea Florence Garrison, age 80, passed away peacefully December 26, 2020 due to COVID-19. She was born April 16, 1940 in Longmont, Colorado to Dorotheo and Nora (Lucero) Martinez. She married the love of her life, William Raymond Garrison, in May of 1974 who preceded her in death in December 1977.
Dorothea "Dee" was raised by her paternal grandparents on their Longmont farm. She learned many useful life skills from her grandfather including animal husbandry, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
Despite enduring difficulty and adversity as a child, Dee grew into a very beautiful, highly intelligent young woman with a tremendous talent and love for song.
A brief marriage in her youth blessed her with a loving daughter.
Dee believed in and loved the Lord. Her relationship with him was genuine and private to her.
Dee had a deep passion for reading and crossword puzzles. She sewed quilts, knitted afghans, crocheted beautiful doilies and she loved to cook and bake for her loved ones.
In the 1970's she owned and operated her own janitorial business. Over the last 40 years, Dee cherished her life as a devoted grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Dee is survived by her daughter Chris (Scott) Frisk, grandchildren Jamie (Jason) O'Connor, Mateo Frisk, David (Amanda) Frisk, Anthony Frisk and Deanna Frisk, her great grandchildren Adrianna, Alyssa and Brandon O'Connor and Alyxander Frisk, and loving cousins Felipe (Monica) Ramos, Claudia (Willie) Chavez, Suzan (Pablo) Lucero and Maria (Mack) Hair, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.
