Please read sealed message left by Dorothy to her family and friends that was opened after her death.

To those I love
and those who love me

When I am gone, Release me, Let me go ~
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be thankful for our beautiful years.

I gave to you my love, You can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I travelled on alone.

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a time that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, Call, and I will come.
Though you can't see me or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen with your heart, You'll hear
All my Love around you soft and clear.

And then, when You must come this way alone
I'll greet you with a smile and say:

"Welcome Home"

With all my love ~Dorothy~

Dorothy was born in Denver, Colorado to Helen Christina and Webb Greening. She had one brother Donald August Greening (deceased). Dorothy graduated from East High School (Denver), and received her diploma in nursing from Saint Luke's Hospital (Denver). She was employed as a registered nurse in several hospitals (head nurse in some) before becoming an industrial nurse at Swift and Company (Denver). She was an office and surgical nurse for two prominent ophthalmologists before retiring. She was home bound for medical reasons during the last ten years of her life. She moved from her home on 2nd and Ash St in Denver to an assisted living home in Castle Rock in 2006.

Dorothy served as nurse and care-giver to numerous members of her family before their deaths. She was a loving and very generous person. Even when her health required care-givers she continued to care for others in whatever way she could. She was a mother figure to many. Most who met her have commented that she was a person they could never forget. Many referred to her as their very best friend. She is survived by son John and his wife Teri; Grandsons David & Austin and their wives Kati & Morgan; Great-grandchildren Owen & Joslyn (David & Kati's children); Niece Christina Myers (husband Mark); Nephews Richard, Michael (wife Debbie), & Daren (wife Wendy) Greening; and by numerous great nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.

Dorothy was a wonderful mother, mentor, and friend to John and he thanks God for the eighty-nine years he had her.

Above all else, Dorothy was devoted to God. She prayed and glorified God several times a day. She was as generous as funds allowed with her monetary contributions to her church and charities. When she could no longer attend Saint Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church in Denver, she was ministered to by her dear priest (Father Ralph Walker), who conducted weekly communion services in her assisted living home at which some staff and other residents regularly attended.

Dorothy will be greatly missed and we carry loving, fun, and wonderful thoughts of the numerous ways she enriched our lives. Go with God Dorothy, we hope by God's grace to be with you again.
