Dorothy May Klahn
May 28, 1921 - December 4, 2020
Dorothy was born in a farmhouse near Hildreth, Nebraska, to parents John J. and Meta Ubben. She passed away in Aurora, Colorado, after contracting corona virus.
After graduation from Hildreth High School, Dorothy contributed to the war effort working at the Naval Ammunition Depot in Hastings, Nebraska. Later she earned her teaching certificate and began teaching grades 1-12 in a one-room rural school house. She married Robert F. Klahn in 1946, and they moved to Denver, Colorado. After their two daughters had entered grade school, she was the church secretary at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she and Robert were founding members.
Dorothy was an avid bowler, flower gardener, and a fan of University of Nebraska football, the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and Colorado Avalanche.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; brother John Ubben; sister Clarice Priest; sister Joan Parrigan, and son-in-law, David Bayless. Her family is together again.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Alaya Klahn and Rhonda Bayless; Granddaughters Amanda (Daniel) Olds, and Emily (William IV) Bastien; and Great-grandson William (Billy) Bastien, V.
Interment will be with Robert at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
