Dorothy A. Montoya

On the morning of August 9, 2024, Dorothy Althea Montoya, age 88 of Denver passed away peacefully with family members around her at Villa Manor Care Center in Lakewood.  

Dorothy is survived by her eight loving children: Alice, Eloy (Jamie), Debra, Gary, Dennis, Jeanette, Angel, and Elizabeth; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and four siblings; Nadine, Marvin, Geraldine and Rose.

Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter:  Donna; parents, William and Ophelia and eight siblings; Louise, David, Helen, Mary, Abraham, Francis and Danny.

Dorothy lived life to the fullest and was happiest when she was surrounded by her large family. In her later years she enjoyed sharing her hobbies of coloring, doing puzzles and (beating us at) Rummy. She was immensely loved by her family and friends and will be sadly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her. We know she is in a better place with loved ones who have gone before. 

A memorial service will be held at Newcomer West Chapel, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd. on Saturday, August 24th, family will be received 11:30-12:30. The sermon will begin promptly at 12:30, Pastor Ruben Montano will officiate.

 A family gathering will follow at 1:30 at Link Recreation Center, 1295 S. Reed Street, Lakewood.
