Dorothy S. Owens, 93, of Westminster, passed away on January 26, 2018.
She was born on May 25, 1924 in Ionia, Kansas, the daughter of James and Edna (Eldridge) Skeers.
She was a graduate of Mankato High School in Mankato, KS in 1942.
On July 25, 1943, she married Raymond Owens in Colby, KS.
Dorothy was a member of the Sherrelwood Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Dorothy loved to travel. She enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was always interested in sharing the Good News from the Bible with her friends and neighbors. Dorothy was always willing to help family or friends, helping to care for her nephew, Chris, from birth and her great-niece, Roxanne, as a teenager. Widowed at 64, Dorothy lived the rest of her life with grace and dignity. She lived her life to the fullest. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dorothy is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Raymond Owens in 1988; father, James Skeers; mother, Edna Skeers and 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of New York Inc., 900 Red Mills Rd, Wallkill, NY 12589.
