Dorothy was a warm, fun-loving person that was instantly loved by all who came in contact with her. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor and recited the world's best sayings. She enjoyed shopping to ensure she looked her best at all times. She never stepped out without a re-touch of her lipstick and a last look in the mirror to correct any flaws or fix a straggling hair. She was just as beautiful inside as she was on the outside. She thoroughly enjoyed eating out and loved the meals her husband cooked for her.
As life goes, in 2008 Dorothy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and moved into Assured Assisted Living home, specializing in Alzheimer's care. Being the social butterfly that she was, her unique sense of humor was ever so evident as her health declined. She was very sweet to the other residents and if they were feeling poorly, he always had a kind word for them and a hug. She had a passion for dogs and the house dogs loved her so much, they slept in her room often with her. She looked forward to the music program, especially the spiritual songs in which she sang along and clapped her hands to the music. She led the Sunday Bingo Games by calling the numbers allowing everyone to win.
Her caregivers were constantly kept in stitches as she brought much daily laughter to them. They complimented her sweet demeanor and her loving ways. Every caregiver proclaimed she was their favorite. Dorothy Jean leaves a lot of family and friends who will miss her and will love her forever.
