Dr. Iwan Owechko

Doctor Iwan Owechko, retired professor of Foreign Languages at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, author, poet, journalist and Ukrainian Patriarch, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Novemeber 4, 2002. He is survived by his wife Lydia, son, Yuri, daughter, Ingeborg (Antonio) de la Cerra, Brother, Semen, grandchildren, Marlene, Sonia, Stefan and Larisa, and great-grandchildren, Ellisa and Evan. Visitation will be on Friday, November 8, 2002 from 4-8 PM at Newcomer Family Chapel, 7277 W. Colfax, Lakewood, CO. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 9, at 10:00 AM at Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4118 Shoshone, Denver, CO. Burial will be at Linn Grove Cemetery in Grealey Saturday Afternoon.
